Advent Festival
A whole community event focused on advent. There are craft tables for children, a holiday photo booth, refreshments, music and an advent wreath making station. Car Rally Scavenger Hunt
A whole community event focused on family fun for new parishioners (and old). Painted rocks with scripture search placed in prominent locations here on the westend for families to find and also discover many of our parks and special locations. Opportunities include: painting and preparing rocks/scripture, sitting with items to prevent being taken, and encouraging participation. Lent Religious Art Festival
A whole community event focused on Lent and art. Much like our Advent festival, this differs in that it includes an art gallery set up. The Welcoming Committee
Help keep St. Charles a welcoming environment. The second weekend of the month (excluding December) is our Welcome Weekend where a member of the parish helps those who would like to join the parish or have recently joined the parish. You will provide these folks with a welcome bag and a friendly face. All it takes is 15 minutes before and after your chosen Mass - one weekend per month. Facilties Committee
Do you have extensive experience with the care and maintenance of large facilities? Would you like to share your knowledge to help keep the St. Charles campus among the best in the area? Consider joining our Factilities Committee. We will meet every other month to discuss everything from maintenance schedules to best practices for cleaning and repairs. Religious Education
Classes offered to children in preschool through 6th grade on Sundays after 10:00 mass. Classes go from September through April with holidays off. Bible Study
Bible study groups currently meet on Monday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. in the parish center and Wednesday mornings from 9:45 (after daily mass) to 11:30 a.m. in the convent building Topics vary. Catholic Book Club
This club meets 6 times a year on the last Wednesday of the month (Jan, Mar, May, July, Sept, Nov). Books are usually non fiction. Occasionally a good fiction read will come up. Books will range in theological depth and content. We meet at 5:30p.m. for one hour to discuss our thoughts, insights and share fellowship. Vacation Bible Camp
A one week, half day faith experience for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade - usually topic oriented. Opportunities include leadership in crafts, skits, games, music, snack and bible stations. Parish Library
St. Charles has a small library of various Catholic mediums that include books, dvd’s, and cd’s. There are items for children, teens and adults. Open on Sundays with Coffee and donuts or by appointment. Opportunities for service with the library include inventory help, logging in new items, and other library services. Lenten Small Groups
The parish community is invited to form Small faith sharing groups during Lent to meet weekly, for 6 weeks, to discuss a book or chosen study program to enhance their Lenten experience. Middle School Youth Group
6th through 8th graders meeting once a week September through May with potential summer activities to include mission or service. Opportunities to serve include content presentations, group facilitation, chaperoning, and other activities. Contact Alexa Weight at aweight@stcharlesb.org.
First Eucharist Preparation for children

First Reconciliation Preparation for children

Confirmation: Preparation for 6th through 12th graders

Eucharistic Ministers to the Sick and Homebound
Bring God's love and Jesus in the Eucharist to the sick, the elderly and the homebound. We need ministers of compassion who can go out about once per week for visits. Training is required and provided, as well as a background check and Safe Environment training. Contact Jessica Quan at jquan@stcharlesb.org to discuss how you can become involved.
Funeral Reception Ministry
Provides receptions for families who have a funeral at St. Charles. There are opportunities to assist with set-up, serving and clean-up. The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)
This community meets on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM in the Parish Center from August through May. There are opportunities to be part of the team, to be a sponsor, and to be part of our prayer support for this community. The Rosary Prayer Ministry
This group meets Wednesdays at 7:00 PM in the Convent Chapel and prays the rosary Monday through Friday after the daily Mass. All are welcome to join this community in prayer.
