4/21/22 Dear St. Charles Borromeo Parishioners, May you know the peace of the Risen Christ. Easter marks the definitive beginning of God's new creation. The Kingdom of God, which Jesus proclaimed, means there is a new way of living, a new way of relating to the world we live in, to ourself and to others as well as to the source of all life, God. That way of relating is meant to be one of self-giving in a way which gives life to others. By the way we care for the world we live in we are to act in a way that gives it life. We are to relate to others in a way that gives life to others. We are to relate to ourself in a way that fosters our own life. We are to relate to God, the source of all life, in a way that gives Glory and Praise for all that God has done and is doing now. A tyrant is someone who wants to do or have everything for self. Tyrants always put down or kill anyone or anything that lives the way that Jesus showed us, the way of self-gift for others. That's why the Religious and Civil authorities finally crucified Jesus. But His Resurrection from the dead marks the end of their power and way of acting. It is Jesus and the way of love and life that will triumph, not fear, hatred and death. Be witnesses of the Risen Christ. Peace, Fr. Mike |
