At Baptism, Christ's Spirit and the community of believers embrace the one Baptized, committing themselves to be his or her loving companions in life's journey.
Parents are the first to teach their children what it means to be a disciple of Christ. We at St. Charles are here to prepare you for the Sacrament of Baptism for your child who is younger than 7 years old. This is what an Infant is considered in the Church.
The first step in this process has 4 parts.
1) meet with me in person.
2) submit the required documents.
3) complete our online video series.
4) Attend an in-person session.
Baptisms are typically celebrated at a Mass on the third weekend of the month. At the moment the time of the particular Mass is determined by the Pastor. If you decide to have your child baptized here, we ask that you register in the parish if you are not currently (you may register online here).
Here at St. Charles, we don’t expect you to embark on your child’s faith journey alone. We have started a Parenting in Faith ministry, especially directed to those families of very young children. This is one of the resources we have to help support you as your child’s primary teacher and catechist. A catechist is one who passes down the faith.
